  Shusaku Hagahara performed the role of the frontiers to research and development of the frequency separation scheme and 3 electrode scheme single tube color cameras, and also single chip solid-state color camera, then, have built technical foundation of today’s home use color television camera. Consequently, he has contributed to the world class development of the consumer television technology.

  To this technology, the Institute of Television Engineers of Japan awarded the Niwa Takayanagi prize — achievement prize to Shusaku Nagahara (Hitachi) in 1982.
